Here we are, on the eve or our 16th General Chapter. Our year of preparation and prayer for the Chapter ends with the celebration of Pentecost. Received every month, the Animation Guide helped us, through the words of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:1-16, to encounter more the Jesus of the Good News.
9th day – Thanksgiving and abandonment to God Trinity
Jesus, sweet and humble of heart make my heart like Yours. Holy Trinity, one and the same God, I adore you, I love you and I thank you.
8th day – An intense inner life
For Sister Eugénie Caps, the missionary vocation of the Spiritan Sister, placed under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the protection of the Virgin Mary, can only lead to the total abandonment of her life to God, to a will to strive towards perfection, even holiness.
7th day – The Virgin Mary, a model to follow
If the Spirit is the inspirer of the missionary apostolate, the Virgin Mary holds the place of mediator of all graces, a model to be followed for the Missionary Sisters.
6th day – Personal experience with Christ, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
The Writings of Sister Eugénie Caps reveal that a missionary vocation cannot exist without a personal experience with Christ.
5th day – A path to holiness
The total self-giving of which Sister Eugénie Caps speaks, calls for a decentering of oneself. It is a path to holiness.
Fourth day – Walking in the footsteps of Jesus
To walk in the footsteps of Jesus, is to give oneself entirely to Him, and in every circumstance, both in moments of joy and of suffering.
3rd day – Being to Jesus alone, living for Him alone
‘‘Being to Jesus alone, living for Him alone, will involve to make professional choices: working at the Bank of Bouzonville, even if the salary is less than the position offered to her at the station.
2nd day – Perpetual Chastity
In 1905, Eugénie renews her 1st Communion. She feels particularly attracted to Jesus and makes the promise of perpetual chastity.
Consecrate our life to God and the missions
From an early age, Eugénie Caps has a heart turned to Jesus and shows great spiritual thirst. She wishes to consecrate her life to God and the missions.
